Sleepless: an outtake from Home Read online

“I will never forget this,” he murmured. “May I ask what was used for the graffiti? It looks… It’s not a wall.”
I smirked and scratched my nose. “Jared—from the Quad? He’s mad good. I asked him to make it a keepsake for me, so he used my desk at work. Well, not the actual desk, but like the protective mat on it. So now it’s always there.”
Teach shook his head in awe and kept gazing at the pictures.
It was a good time to get a ring on his finger.
I cleared my throat and dug out the two gold bands from my pocket, hand closed so he didn’t see them yet.
“Do you know why I love you so much?” I wondered quietly, and fuck me if the nerves didn’t make a swift comeback. Fuck. At least we were alone now. “Or part of it, anyway. Because you’re just so fucking genuine. Your kid brother is right—your bleeding heart’s gonna run dry one day, but I’ll be there too.”
He set down the picture frame on the couch and brought my knuckles to his lips.
“Billy used to say he judged people, um, not for how they treated him but for how they treated others.” I swallowed the painful memory of losing him; I wouldn’t let that take over this moment. “Everyone’s nice to their buddies, right? We often show less care toward strangers, but not you. You give everyone a shot, and if you can help, you will.”
“Sweetheart—”
“I’m not done,” I whispered, managing a wobbly smile. I kissed him quickly because I had to. “Having spent this past year being your personal stalker, I know what to look for. You’re so fucking good, and it’s thanks to you I have all this. I’m not as wary around new people, and I don’t automatically think someone’s gonna shank me. I have friends because of you.” I paused to clear my throat again, and I pushed aside the mush. “You legit build people up, and I think that’s rare. And since you’ve said yes to my proposal, it means you gotta let me take care of you too. ’Cause, swear to Christ, you suck at it.”
He grinned and sniffled, and I kissed him once more, lingering this time. Gathering my words too, I guessed. I didn’t wanna get weepy; I wanted to get this right so he understood. He had to.
“I love you, Adrian.” I broke the kiss and licked my lips, foreheads touching. “I love you for everything you represent, for everything you do, and for the amazing dad you’ve become to Thea. Even if you seem to believe she’s exempt from being a trolling little shit at times.”
“Jesus, baby.” He chuckled thickly as a tear rolled down his cheek, and I wiped it away with my thumb.
“I gotta do this one more time,” I said and held up the rings. “Will you marry me?”
“Hell, Dominic, I don’t know how much more of this I can take.” He got more emotional, but I’d said my piece, so it was okay. He became blurry for me too. “Of course—yes. I can’t tell you how you’ve made me feel today. Or what this means to me.”
I could, because I knew the feeling. It was what he did to me.
I got the rings on our fingers before we collided in the messiest of kisses. Whatever he couldn’t say, he could express in other ways, and he sure as fuck took charge. He lowered me to the couch and kissed me like he was starv—wait. Oh shit, wait.
“Hold up,” I grunted, tugging at the plastic bag under me. “I forgot something.”
“Get to it quickly.” He didn’t stop. He was on a mission to kiss every inch of my chest.
“I hope this was sorta implied, but in case.” I fished out the last envelope. “I was supposed to have the paperwork printed, but then I sat there fuckin’ clueless. I don’t know how to go about this.”
His brow furrowed at that, and he opened the envelope.
It was another gesture, I guess…? I’d written “how can my man adopt my gangster” into Google, taken a screenshot, and printed it at work.
“I’ve reached my limit.” Adrian set the slip of paper on the coffee table, his fingers trembling a bit, then returned to me. “Come here.”
I grinned into the kiss and snaked my legs over his calves. “You gonna gimme some nookie now?”
“You bet I am. No sleep for you.”
I could deal.
By round two, we were in bed, and I’d gotten an hour’s naptime before he woke me up with an apology and two fingers in my ass.
“More,” I groaned, outta breath. I arched into him and gave him all the ass he could take. My fucking toes were curling. The pleasure dizzying. “Fuck me harder, baby.”
He took me like a man possessed, playing me like a fuckin’ fiddle. When I tried to stretch out on my stomach, he hauled me back on his fat cock and forced me down hard. I clenched and gasped through gritted teeth. He stretched me, reigniting the burn, and snaked his arms around me.
“Fuck yourself on me.” His breath hit my neck, and my head lolled back to his shoulder. “Take all of it.”
“Yeah,” I panted.
His large hands roamed my front, teasing my nipples, then down my stomach toward my dick. We found our rhythm, and it was all long, deep thrusts, heavy breaths, needy kisses, and grabby hands.
I moaned and turned my head, sinking my teeth into his neck. Sparks of pleasure shot through me.
“There?” He pushed me down harder, and I nodded mindlessly and sucked in a breath. Fuck, it was overpowering. “Christ. Look at this, Dominic. Look how fucking beautiful.”
I let my head loll forward again, my chin nearly touching my chest. Through my hooded gaze, I stared at his hands working my cock. He touched me, fucking milked me, in firm, sensual strokes, and a steady little flow of pre-come was trickling down my shaft.
“You should suck it again,” I grunted.
“Give it to me.” He helped me off of him, and I kinda regretted it. I wanted my ass filled and railed. Soon, I told myself.
My feet hit the floor, and he crawled to the edge, immediately sucking me into his mouth.
“Fuck.” I twisted my fingers in his hair and gawked at him. All that muscle, that strength. “Stay on all fours. Oh God.” It felt too good to fuck his mouth. The hot, wet suction of his thirsty mouth, and the rasp of his trimmed beard tickling my balls and the insides of my thighs when he went deep. “Yeah, suck it,” I rasped. I had to stop soon, the orgasm already coming closer. “Suck the come from me.” He hummed, swirling his tongue around the head. I pushed forward, and he responded by swallowing. “Jesus—you’re so fucking greedy, Adrian. Can’t get enough dick, can you?”
He looked up at me with something sharp flashing in his eyes, and before I knew it, he was pulling me down on the mattress with him. I landed with a yelp, and he rolled me over onto my back. My knees were nudged apart. Fingers played with my asshole, in and out, groping messily, slipping in lube. Then he was pushing the blunt head of his cock against my opening.
“Can’t get enough of your ass either,” he growled and forced himself inside.
He stole my breath and almost pushed me over the edge. I clung to him, meeting the perfectly punishing punches of his cock as best as I could, and stroked myself faster as the pressure built up.
“I love you.” He grabbed my jaw and kissed me. Tongues sliding together, lips fused. With his free hand, he threaded our fingers together above my head, and I think we both felt the soft knocking of our rings. “Fuck—baby, I…”
There was no warning. We toppled over at the same time, him with a gritty grunt against my neck, every muscle in him tense and hard, and me with a whorish groan and my head thrown back. He rocked deeper and coated me with his come, and I came all over my abs and chest.
That moment, as the orgasm fucked me up, was physical ecstasy. There was nothing better than having Teach’s big dick shooting inside me, my brain was a subservient goddamn worshiper of him, and there was nothing he wanted that I wouldn’t give him.
Hopefully, he’d want a third round before the night was over.
Who needed sleep anyway?

About the Author
I’m often awkwardly silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there’s so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex. There’s a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve. Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.
Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.
I'm a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, and geeking. There’s time for hockey and cupcakes, too. But mostly, I just love to write.
